Station-Master's Choice: Timeless Surrender, by Torie James

March 7, 2018

It's Release Day for one of my favorite indie authors, Miss Torie James, and I couldn't be happier. Even as I write this, my pre-ordered copy of her newest book, Timeless Surrender, is winging its way to my Kindle, soon to take top spot on my bedtime reading list.  Move over, Altered Carbon.... I'll get back to you later!

Timeless Surrender is the third book in Miss James's New Camelot series, a collection of fantasy romance and adventure novels starring all the favorite heroes of Arthurian Legend, brought into our own modern Los Angeles. The books have had a special place in my heart since I first dived into Book 1, Timeless Night, and while Book 2, Timeless Desire, is my current favorite, I have long awaited this new chapter in the story, and the surly anti-hero of Mordred Lothian.

So while I await my Kindle's new download notification to tell me the new book is finally here, allow me to give you my official recommendation of the New Camelot books, and their fantastic author, Torie James.

History branded him a coward. Prophecy labeled her his destruction. Some legends are born of lies. Others begin when the lies end. And not everything remains myth...

"If you could live forever, what would you choose to live for? I chose power..."

Born of darkness and raised on revenge, Mordred Lothian spent an eternity fighting for the honor of a woman who had none. Free of her hatred, his only goal is to pick up the pieces of betrayal and attempt to forge a new life in a world that never wanted him.

Raised by one of Hollywood's most scandalous actresses, Jenalyn Rhodes knows true illusion begins when the end credits roll. Damaged by the one person who should have protected her most, she is determined to have no master and only one mistress: Herself.

Thrown together to stop an ancient evil hell bent on vengeance, can the sacrifice of one be the salvation of the other?

From Within These Pages....

Never in his long life, did Mordred want anything as badly as he wanted the woman before him.

Ever.

"How?" He stalked her, slowly.

"H--how what?"

"Did you dream about me? Us? Did you dream about me taking you? Touching you? Your legs wrapped around my waist as I fucked your pretty little body?"

"N-no. I mean, yes." She admitted it fearlessly he noticed. "How did you know?"

"Because you were dreaming, I know because I checked on you not even ten minutes ago while you slept. Somehow, I felt you dreaming and my eyes were wide open. I saw it clear as day, in my mind." He touched himself through his jeans, hissing slightly. "I'm still hard."

He knew he needed to turn and go. But his restraint wavered. In the dream world, for those minutes, nothing mattered but the pure animal lust between them and then suddenly, it hardly seemed enough.

He wanted more.

He wanted her.

And have her he would.

He strode to the bed, kneeling on it as he reached for her, pulling her close.

He tensed, waiting for her to push away or cry but all he saw in her eyes reflected excitement, wonder, and desire. For him.

"Tell me, honestly, Jenalyn. What are you seeing right now?"

"All I see is you."

"Say no now, lady. Say no, and I'll go. Or hold your peace." His lips captured hers, hands roaming over the white gown she'd put on earlier, sliding under the thin straps and twining them around his fingers.

He broke the kiss long enough to stare down into her wide, dazzling eyes. She never spoke a word.

She simply bit her lower lip and the one action pushed him over the edge.

A sizzling rip of fabric filled the dark air as he tore her gown in two, tossing the scraps to the side before he felt her small, warm hands making short work of his loose lounging pants, going the way of her gown remnants.

Mordred reared back towards the foot of the bed, lifting her foot up to his lips and nibbling the instep, tongue lashing out to stroke a moist path. She swallowed hard, shivering at the sensation and let her thighs fall open a bit more. She squirmed in anticipation, especially when his fingers and lips moved higher, tracing a path up into the soft inner flesh of her thigh. She moaned quietly, arching into the sharp nip and sting of his teeth. She shivered again when his breath stirred the silky curls guarding her feminine gate.

"You smell so good..."

About Torie James

Born on the planet Gallifrey in the constellation of Kasterborous,I am the illegitimate love child of Han Solo and  Daenerys Targaryen. Rescued by Gandalf shortly before my home planet was destroyed in the last days of the Clone Wars, I was raised in relative obscurity by my foster parents, Severus Snape and Pippi Longstocking. At the tender age of 113, I inherited the best little whorehouse in Texas and it's been rumored that I am bringing Sexy Back. A self- confessed chocoholic, I've been engaged to Willy Wonka for several years despite gossip surrounding millionaire Bruce Wayne and myself.

And clearly, I practice delusion on a daily basis.

Fact is nowhere as fun as fiction!

Growing up, I could be found nearby falling down rabbit holes, catching second stars to the right, and stepping through wardrobes into mysterious lands and countless adventures. When those stories ended, I made up her own and kept going. This later on translated into a strong passion for writing that has helped keep my feet on the ground while my head stayed firmly in the clouds.

My first brush with romance novels came at the tender age of 8 when I filched a Barbara Cartland dog eared paperback from my unassuming aunt and fell into a world of magic, wonder and entirely innocent G rated writing. (Seriously, the farthest Dame Cartland ever took any romantic scene was a chaste kiss and that generally didn’t occur until the very end.) I went on to greedily consume Johanna Lindsey, Jude Devereaux and Anne Rice when older.

Now, I'm a middle aged woman with moxie, no shame and a vivid imagination who loves to write and share her crazy with the world. Her future plans include, hopefully, buying a lovely Scottish castle and convincing Queen Elizabeth I that I'd make a fab addition to the Royal Family.

I live in Southern California, a stone's throw from Disneyland, with my family and the most ridiculously spoiled pets anyone could imagine. My goals are simple: Keep reading, keep writing and never lose the determination to make life as random, quirky and beautiful as it can be.
