If anyone knows the best drink to wind down with at the end of a long road, it's frontier travelers and wilderness walkers like the men and women of Geiral in the Dark Roads Saga. From the hometown of runeweaver Serenity Walker, we bring you the favorites of heroes and desperadoes.
First, a smooth blend for a fine night in front of the fire, for any home-grown hero.
Jack Chamberlain's Cowboy Coffee
2 ½ ounces Scotch Whiskey
1 ¼ once dark roast coffee or espresso
½ ounce sugar syrup
Dash of aromatic bitters
Combine all ingredients in a glass, add ice, stir, and garnish with orange peel.
Serenity's Favorite
Sweet and Sour
Jack's apprentice Serenity Walker is a girl of simple tastes, but this is one warm winter specialty she adores.
1 ½ ounces Scotch Whiskey
½ ounce lemon juice
½ ounce cinnamon syrup
¼ ounce apricot liqueur
Float of red wine
Combine Scotch Whiskey, lemon juice, cinnamon syrup and liqueur in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a rocks glass.
Float with red wine.
